Our Leadership Team

Our leadership team at Total Vision includes some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the field.

Neil Collier
Chief Executive Officer

Neil has over three decades of operations experience at large-scale, multi-site healthcare businesses. He has successfully driven business growth and has led high performing field operations and professional service teams, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of Center for Vein Restoration, a multi-site practice management business based in Virginia.

One of Neil’s most prominent accomplishments was his prior work as VP of Operations at MyEyeDr, which grew from 38 offices to 341 in less than five years during his time there. We are excited to leverage his extensive experience in the optometry space, including successful integration of new optometry practices, increasing year over year store sales, and enhancing team member and patient experience. Neil’s values, work style, and results will match well with the “better together” foundation that has already been established at Total Vision.

Neil has a 24-year-old daughter and a son, who is a senior in high school. In his free time, he enjoys golf and snowboarding.

Doug Cannon
Chief Financial Officer

Doug comes to Total Vision with extensive experience as a Chief Financial Officer of numerous multi-site, multi-state healthcare companies including the Southeastern Spine Institute, US Dermatology Partners, Guardian Healthcare, and others. He has successfully leveraged his expertise to help companies scale from inception to IPO, often involving rapid growth through both de novo expansion and acquisitions.

Doug’s experience is far reaching and includes financial reporting, budgeting, revenue cycle, information systems, and managed care contracting. We look forward to capitalizing on these strengths as we continue to build out the financial support that Total Vision provides to its practices.

Doug has two daughters, ages 22 and 23, and his favorite pastimes include hiking, biking, and reading.

Steve Klein, O.D.
Chief Medical Officer

Steve Klein is a founding doctor and Chief Growth Officer. Dr. Klein also serves on the Board of Directors and is involved in a wide range of activities that go with building an organization from the ground up. The passion that he brings to work each day is inspiring to everyone around him. Dr Klein meets with doctors across Southern California to find the best partners to join the Total Vision team.

After earning his bachelors at UCLA and his doctorate at SCCO, Dr Klein returned to his hometown of San Diego. Over the past 30 years, Dr Klein has built three practices in partnership with his wife, Dr Kim Plattner. He has also been a speaker, educator and clinical investigator for many industry- leading companies, including Allergan Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, Coopervison, Synergeyes, Bausch & Lomb and Zeiss. He has lectured on various subjects including new technologies, diabetes and dry eye. In addition, he served as principal investigator for the recently launched iLux dry eye device. Dr Klein served as President of the Lions Optometric Vision Clinic, Treasurer/Secretary of the California Vision Foundation and was a four-year board member for the San Diego County Optometric Society. In his free time, Dr Klein enjoys many outdoor activities including biking, stand-up paddle boarding, surfing and skiing. He loves spending time with his wife and two children.

With many innovative ideas and an ability to enthusiastically engage others, Dr Klein has become a respected thought leader in the eyecare field. His vision of bringing together forward-thinking doctors to thrive in this rapidly changing eyecare arena/world was the genesis of the Total Vision platform/network.

David Chin
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

David Chin is the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. He leads all corporate development activities including partnerships, acquisitions, real estate, and strategic initiatives.

David comes to Total Vision, with almost 20 years of experience in private equity and mergers and acquisitions. David was previously a Partner of Trimountain Partners and a Managing Director of Palladin Consumer Retail Partners, two private equity firms where he served on the boards of several multi-unit and consumer-oriented companies. Over his career, David has worked closely with management teams to grow both organically and through acquisitions, guiding them in strategy, operations, marketing, HR, and financial initiatives. Earlier in his career, he served as a professional at other multi-billion dollar investment firms and two global investment banks.

David has an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth and a BA from Dartmouth College.

Brooke Jakovich
Senior Vice President, Operations

Brooke Jakovich is the Senior Vice President of Operations, the first team member to join the organization to carry out the doctor driven vision for this optometry company. She leads each Care Center with compassion and intensity in all operational, sales, training, strategy, team member engagement, and acquisition integration aspects by partnering with their successful doctor partners.

Her professional career started and grew at NVISION Eye Centers, a doctor owned ophthalmology group, beginning as one of the organization’s star outside sales representatives, then continuing with eight additional roles in just over ten years. She has managed the organization’s largest practice and flagship location in Newport Beach, California and launched NVISION’s cataract service line in 2012 growing the revenue from less than 1% of total production to over 26% of the organization’s top line revenue in just under two years. Additionally, she was a key contributor to NVISION’s expansion, successfully acquiring and integrating locations to grow the organization and produce same store growth results, a key element to Total Vision’s expansion strategy.

Brooke received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Fullerton, graduating summa cum laude, while leading her Division I Softball team all four years. She loves cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

Lori Shaw
Vice President, Human Resources

Lori Shaw is the Vice President of Human Resources at Total Vision LLC, and has been with the company since its founding. Lori is passionate about creating healthy organizational cultures and working to strengthen employee engagement. A key part of her role is to support the company in fulfilling its mission to deliver exceptional optometric care—by ensuring that Total Vision recruits and retains exceptional talent and provides development opportunities to all team members. Lori provides leadership to the HR team that also oversees payroll, benefits, and employee relations.

A native of Minnesota, Lori brings over 28 years of Human Resources and leadership experience in healthcare to the table. Her healthcare human resources experience has been in a variety of settings including hospitals, large group medical practices, hospice, and the health insurance industry. She has extensive experience with healthcare acquisitions and building physician partnerships.

Lori received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications from St. Cloud State University, and a Master of Arts in Human Resources from the University of Minnesota. Lori lived in the Twin Cities area for over 20 years before moving to Southern California. An avid hiker, traveler, and reader, Lori’s favorite activity is hanging out with her daughter, who is now attending college.

Mike Stein
Director, Operations

Mike Stein is the Director of Operations at Total Vision with a deep background in retail operations. Mike is responsible for supporting all care centers in partnership with the Doctors, Practice Directors and Managers to produce world class operating results. Mike is a dynamic, results oriented leader offering visionary leadership and solid operational expertise through execution of proven business and leader techniques.

Mike is a dedicated and resourceful problem solver and project leader offering over 20 years of executive level experience. Mike’s professional career started at Target with 19 years leading up to operations multi unit support for the west coast stores. Mike’ most recent experience is from Best Buy, with 14 years of tenure where he was the Senior Market Manager of Sales for Southern California. Mike was directly responsible for customer satisfaction, overall financial performance, culture and execution of sales, solutions and profits. Mike managed over 4,000 employees across 36 locations delivering over $1.2 billion in revenue.

Mr. Stein received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Phoenix in 1998. He loves spending time with his wife, Julia, and their 2 sons. He is an avid endurance athlete competing in triathlons, trail races, and mountain biking.

Leslie Polley
Director of Marketing

Serving as Director of Marketing, Leslie is responsible for driving traffic and enhancing patient acquisition and retention for Total Vision. Leslie has extensive experience building and executing marketing strategies for each channel including Search Engine Optimization, social media, and email. She has over fifteen years’ experience leading the marketing function in both the homebuilding and dental industries. In her prior roles, she was instrumental in increasing patient volume, expanding brand awareness, and lead generation & conversion. Leslie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chapman University and earned her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Concordia University. In her free time, she enjoys water sports and motorcycle riding with her husband and two sons, and fishing in the High Sierras.
